Welcome! You are a brand new Jamberry Consultant!
Those words probably excite you and terrify you all at the same time! I'm so excited that you have decided to join the team and become a new Jamberry Consultant. Starting a business is extremely exciting but can also be a bit daunting, but guess what? You are in luck! I've got some great tips for the new Jamberry consultant and you have a whole world of resources at your fingertips – from your online dashboard from head office, to your sponsor, social media groups and even our friend Google there is no end to the support you will find to help you start and run your business successfully.
Read and use the resources on your dashboard
Once you sign up you will gain instant access to your consultant dashboard – here you will find an absolute treasure trove of information to help you get started. Jamberry, like many direct sales companies provides you with a start up guide when you join. So your first point of call is to read it! If you haven't received the physical copy yet – login to your dashboard and on the left hand side of your page you'll see the quick links menu – click on ‘Resources' find the tab that is appropriate for your location (US/AU/UK/NZ/CAN) and then scroll on down until you see ‘Fast Start' there you will find videos and print versions of the start up guides. If you are confused about anything ask your sponsor – that is what they are there for!
Your next step is to have a look at the Workstation Videos this will walk you right around your dashboard and how to do all the basics you will need to get started in managing your business.
While you are on the resources page check out all the other goodies that are there for you – there is the consultant training call schedules (sign up for those calls they are amazing!), there is training on booking parties, successful parties, recruiting – you name it! Make sure you understand all the ins and outs – how you get paid, when, expectations to stay active and how to achieve your bonuses as a new Jamberry consultant.
This is seriously “the bomb” – Jamberry has put together a comprehensive program that will get any new Jamberry consultant looking like a pro in no time (including you!) – all the learning is online in your own time – you can be a total over achiever and do it all in one go OR work through each level in your own time. When you finish you will basically have your own mini-business plan. This training is great as a new Jamberry consultant, but the skills are most definitely transferable to any type of work you might be doing currently or in the future. As a bonus you get a shiny pin when you graduate from Jam U – I personally reward my personal recruits with a free sheet of wraps when they complete the full course because I believe it is essential to building a strong Jamberry business. Everything is covered from learning how to use your workstation, products, social media, parties, customer service – it's all there!
Okay that covers the main points with running your business started, now let's turn our attention to some of the practical things you can do to get yourself going.
Practical Tips to Prepare for Business
1) Create an email account just for your business –
You can change you current email on your dashboard under account or profile settings once you’ve created you new email. This will allow you to keep your business separate! You can get a free email account from Gmail, Yahoo, or even through your own domain.. I recommend using Gmail because of all the great features offered to you by Google. I also recommend using your business name in your email. For example jamsandscones.com is the business name and firstname.lastname@example.org is the email. However be careful when choosing your email address and business name. According to Jamberry Policies and Procedures you cannot use any part or derivative of the word Jamberry in your name.
2) Order Business Cards
Once you've sorted out your website address and email address – it's time to order your business cards. You can order cards through your dashboard under the ‘Shop' tab and then create a marketing materials order or Jamberry Print Shop. In Australia we have been give a bit of lee-way due to the high costs of the exchange rate and shipping. Most girls have been ordering locally or through Vistaprint. You must still comply with Policies and Procedures when designing your card and when you are happy with what you have – you just need to send the proof to compliance for approval. You can access logos and appropriate images on the Jamberry Flickr account or in the resources section of the dashboard.
3) Create that first party!
Chances are you have shared your excitement about joining Jamberry with friends and family. Some of these people may want to order immediately. In order to take full advantage of these orders for your First Fast Start, you need to create your first party. You will first create the party in your Jamberry dashboard, and then use that to create your Facebook launch party.
When in your workstation, click the Parties tab and select “add party”. Name your party, something that communicates to friends and family that you are starting your business, like “Michelle’s Jammin` Jamberry Business Launch Party” and fill out the party details with your information. Yes, you will be the consultant and the hostess! It's a double whammy- you will get commission and the hostess rewards which you can use to add items to your kit! Put in the date you want your party to start – preferably today or tomorrow, and the end date 28 days later. Jamberry does not allow us to keep parties in an “open” status for longer than 28 days.
Once you’ve entered your information, click Continue. Your party is now ready to accept orders and will move into the Active Parties tab. This is the same process for any future party you create. Any party listed in your “active” parties group will be available at checkout for your customers.

4) Share your business on Facebook
If you are going to have one it's time to create your Facebook Business page. I highly recommend you do this as it is against Facebook policy to run any form of business from your personal profile – you risk losing your entire account if you don't adhere to their policies. There is a full tutorial on how to do this in Jamberry U or I have detailed instructions for my personal recruits in our private group – your sponsor may do the same so ask! Once you've got that ready then make an announcement on your personal profile – something like this (but make it sound like you!).
“I am so excited to announce that I am now a new Jamberry Consultant! I just discovered this amazing line of nail wraps you apply at home and they last for up to 2 weeks on nails and 6 weeks on toes. My nails never looked good and all without spending time and money I didn’t have on salon manicures that didn’t last. I just started my Facebook business page and launch party on Facebook and if you are reading this I'm inviting you to join my online party. There’s no obligation to buy, I'd love your support as I learn how to run the parties, so join in and learn about Jamberry with me!”
Add a collage of Jamberry photos and the link to your website and more importantly the link to your Facebook business page.
5) Set-up your Jamberry Pay Account
Don't forget this important step – I mean seriously you want to get paid those amazing commissions, right?! We get paid weekly (with bonuses on the 10th of each month) so make sure you get this done before the orders start coming in from you parties. You can do this on your dashboard – under the My Account tab you'll see the Jamberry Pay link.
6) Create Labels
You will need labels to pop on your catalogues and marketing materials (trust me you don't want to be hand writing out all those!). I also like to pop a label on the back of Jamberry wrap envelopes I personally deliver just as an extra “when you are ready to re-order” reminder.
7) Give yourself a Jamicure!
Start practicing it is so important that you can apply your nail wraps properly. Like anything it takes a little practice to get it right. Work with your sponsor to make sure you get the best hints and tricks, watch some YouTube videos. Remember you will get a lot of free advertising just by wearing Jamberry. ALWAYS wear your wraps – naked nails are now a no no!
8) Other items you will need to organize
Envelopes for posting samples, stamps, small party prizes (things that are easy to post). You will need to make up your hostess packs and prospective consultant packs – you can find lots of tips on what to put into these packs from your sponsor and team groups. You might also like to grab yourself a notebook to track all your information in your party – attendees, prize winners, etc.
Once your kit arrives
Once your new Jamberry consultant kit arrives you will be ready to rock! If you've taken care of the tips above your next job will be to get those samples out and on hands! Send samples to anyone you think might be interested or who has asked for them as you've done the early promotion for your business. Close family and friends is a great place to start as they will support you as you learn the ropes.
Most importantly just get out there and give it a go! You will have plenty of support from your upline and fellow team mates. If you ever need anything ASK and I guarantee there will be someone who can help!
