Easy Essential Oils Recipes for ‘Me' Time

Essential Oils are one of my favorite tools to use to look after myself and my family I use them to keep the family healthy, to make my house smell great and to add to my DIY beauty recipes.  Of course, essential oils are a fantastic way to help you have beautiful nails and skin.  I asked my friend Betsy from Essential Oils With Betsy to do up a guest post for us this week with some of her favourite DIY treats to get your hands and feet looking their best – taking time out for yourself – that elusive ‘Me' time for the busy Mom is so important.  You deserve to look and feel great so try out these treats for yourself! Simple Hand & Foot Soak Using Essential Oils: You will need: Bowl of warm water 6 drops of Lavender essential oil

SIMPLE HAND AND FOOT SOAK USING ESSENTIAL OILS:

First,  let's start with a simple soak.  This is going to feel great,  and is incredibly easy!

You will need:

Bowl of warm water

6 drops of Lavender essential oil

Soak hands and feet for a few minutes until the water cools.  Ahhh… isn't that blissful?  A night of relaxation is just what every girl needs!  I chose Lavender because of its wonderfully relaxing qualities.  Lavender essential oil will help with any embarrassing odors that may occur in the feet.

Soften Feet Naturally With Essential Oils: You will need: A natural fragrance-free lotion 2-3 drops of Myrrh

Soften Feet Naturally With Essential Oils:

Now let's soften those feet!  Apply to your whole foot,  focusing on any dry or hard areas.

You will need:

A natural fragrance-free lotion

2-3 drops of Myrrh

This recipe will help soften and moisturize dry feet.  Should you have any uncomfortable areas around the toenails or fingernails,  protective essential oil blend will help ease soreness.

Simple Nail Care Recipe Using Essential Oils You will need: 10 drops Frankincense 10 drops Myrrh 10 drops Lemon 2 Tablespoons Fractionated Coconut Oil

Time to take care of our nails!

Simple Nail Care Recipe Using Essential Oils

You will need:

10 drops Frankincense

10 drops Myrrh

10 drops Lemon

2 Tablespoons Fractionated Coconut Oil

Mix together and apply 2 times a week to strengthen nails and soften cuticles.  Doesn't it feel great to just take care of yourself simply and naturally with essential oils?  I know that I sure love it!

 

Pampering Foot Scrub Recipe With Essential Oils: You will need: 1/2 cup fine sea salt 1 tablespoon walnut shell powder 1 tablespoon shea butter 1 tablespoon cocoa butter 1 1/2 tablespoon argan oil 1/2 tablespoon sweet almond oil 5 drops Melaleuca (Tea Tree) essential oil 10 drops Peppermint essential oil

Last recipe is a Pampering Foot Scrub that you can make yourself!

Pampering Foot Scrub Recipe With Essential Oils:

You will need:

1/2 cup fine sea salt

1 tablespoon walnut shell powder

1 tablespoon shea butter

1 tablespoon cocoa butter

1 1/2 tablespoon argan oil

1/2 tablespoon sweet almond oil

5 drops Melaleuca (Tea Tree) essential oil

10 drops Peppermint essential oil

  1.  Mix shea and cocoa butter,  then melt them in a double boiler.
  2. Stir argan and sweet almond oils into melted butter.
  3.   Add essential oils,  then stir dry ingredients into the butter and oil mixture.
  4.   Allow to cool completely.  If any of the oil and butter settles on the top,  simply re-mix all ingredients with a fork.
  5.   Spoon into a 4-ounce container of your choice.
