So I was that girl who decided when I had kids I was going to be a stay at home mom and raise my little tribe (I was so cute back then). Reality kind of hit after our second child and while I loved being at home with the kids I needed something more (you know something that wasn’t just about kids, laundry, meal prep and cleaning the house). More importantly, I needed a way to bring in some extra money to the household so we could do more than ‘just get by’ on my husband’s income.
I went the traditional route and ‘got a job’ but while the extra money was nice it was a nightmare to work around childcare and my husband’s work schedule – It was at this point that I started looking for ways that I could earn income from home (preferably in my yoga pants and messy bun). I found direct sales which was great but things really took off when I started blogging.
While I love blogging about blogging I had a nagging urge to share all the stuff I have learned about natural health, bio-individual nutrition (yeah I studied a lot in my ‘down’ time) and just plain coping with raising a family full of kids who have challenges due to a handy genetic challenges like MTHFR. So I moved my business blogging on over to my Sassy Direct listing – which I run as my ‘day job’ and am busy turning Jams and Scones into my ‘real-life’ hub.
Here is where you’ll find my ramblings about what I’ve learned, tried and found that works for our family in our quest for health and sanity in this crazy thing called life!
So who’s behind this Hub of greatness?
A mother with nearly 20 years experience (hey it’s the longest I’ve ever held one position), Tammy spends her days juggling the school run, scaling Mt. Foldmore and building an online business through social media and blogging. So far she’s managed to raise 5 children who don’t hate her (yet) with the help of her husband and copious amounts of coffee.
She decided to take her love of social media and blogging and turn it into her side gig – helping other overachievers build their own online empires from home. After getting tired of family and friends telling her to write a book about all the ‘stuff’ she knows about natural health and working with kids she decided to start blogging about it instead, hoping that it might help other families who are dealing with the same issues.
Third person aside, I have a huge passion for sharing all of my obsessive learning with others. I am passionate about helping others live a better life.
